Family businesses.

A family enterprise is a significant achievement, one that reflects dedication, passion, and shared values. Yet, as it passes from one generation to the next — or is sold — the story behind it can be easily forgotten. CONTEXT Studios helps protect and preserve the legacy of your family business, ensuring its story endures for years to come.

    • Capturing the story of your family enterprise preserves the knowledge, values, and lived experiences that define your legacy.

    • As a cornerstone of your family's intellectual capital — one of the Five Capitals essential to long-term wealth and well-being — your story strengthens continuity, fosters shared wisdom, and ensures that the insights of today inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

    • By documenting your journey, achievements, and lessons learned, you create a lasting record that future generations can build upon.

    • Multigenerational family enterprises, their visionary leaders, and the families that drive their success.

    • Marketing, social media, and PR leaders supporting family enterprises.

    • Family office advisors, wealth managers, estate planners, and other trusted advisors.

    • Engage employees & key stakeholders.

    • Share with your family to create a lasting legacy and preserve for future generations.

    • When enterprising families commemorate an anniversary or milestone, it often turns into a book-writing project — a process that can take months or even years.

    • While the result may be beautiful, it often goes unread.

    • Today’s audiences engage more with video and audio, preferring stories they can watch on their phones or listen to on the go.

    • That’s why we capture the story of your family enterprise in just one day, producing a high-end documentary that is instantly accessible, engaging, and designed for how today’s leaders share and consume stories.

A message from James E. Hughes Jr.

Like many, our founder draws inspiration from James E. Hughes Jr.’s framework: The Five Pillars of Capital — Financial, Intellectual, Social, Emotional, and Spiritual.

In June 2025, as she explored how preserving family stories and legacies fits within this framework, she reached out to the Hughes Foundation for guidance. Her inquiry prompted a personal response from Jay Hughes himself — a message we’re honoured to share with his permission.

“Thank you for your most appreciated message. I am delighted to meet you and to know we are on similar journeys to help families flourish.

I love storytelling and its ability to help families achieve purpose. I put story telling in spiritual capital; the topmost finger in my hand gesture. As you know the oral tradition is how humans learned until about 5,000 years ago when we were forced to learn to read and write. Thus our brains are hardwired to hear stories and learn that way.

So stories light up our brains and our spiritual selves. Stories help us know what it means to be human and how humans form families clans and tribes. Our Genesis stories hold our cultural truths. Stories too are the currency of our Elders. All successful families, as do all successful tribes, grow Elders. Elders hold the culture and spirt of the tribe and everyone runs to hear them tell their stories.

I am delighted to know you. With warmest regards, Jay”

At CONTEXT Studios, we believe story is a powerful form of capital — one that connects generations, deepens identity, and reinforces every other pillar.
